About the BCE

Embodying the spirit of the EU
BCE’s concerts celebrate the rich musical voices of the EU Presidency’s region, showcasing renowned national composers alongside the premiere of a contemporary work.
With 60 musicians of 15 nationalities, 20 professions, and ages 18 to 70+, BCE embodies Europe’s spirit: students and young professionals from Belgian conservatoires play alongside semi-professionals — many with music degrees and EU careers — united by their love of music.
The Founding
Despoina, Ina, and Clio, united by their shared passion for music and law, founded the Brussels Chamber Ensemble (BCE) in early 2022 after forming a Piano Trio the previous summer.
Drawing musicians from EU institutions, Belgian conservatories, and Brussels’ international community, BCE brings together professionals, students, and skilled amateurs—all connected by their love of music-making.

Partnership opportunities
The BCE’s alignment with the rotating EU Council Presidency provides our partners and sponsors with a unique opportunity to meet their audiences in the most prestigious concert halls in Brussels.
Sponsorship packages include visibility in our concert programme notes and across our digital platforms. Please contact us to discuss opportunities to support the BCE and view the programme notes from one of our past concerts for an example of the visibility we offer.

Meet the BCE Board
With our BCE founders, Despoina, Ina, and Clio, the current board has been reinforced with two BCE members from day one, Laura and Martin.

She obtained her Piano Licentiate Diploma from Trinity College London with distinction and won multiple awards for both instruments.

Aside from working with the BCE, Clio is currently the Principal Conductor of the Association Philharmonique d’Uccle, Assistant Director to the Brussels Choral Society (Belgium’s largest amateur choir), and also conducts BachWerk chamber choir and ensemble on a rolling basis.

As a young performer, she won multiple national competitions and was selected to play with leading professional orchestras in Greece. She holds diplomas in cello performance, music theory, and harmony—all with highest distinction—and has participated in international masterclasses with top cellists from Europe and the U.S.. Her advanced studies took her to the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where she studied cello performance.
In parallel, she completed legal studies with distinction in Greece and the Netherlands, specialising in EU law.
She continues to combine her legal and musical backgrounds as both performer and ensemble leader, bringing a deep commitment to collaboration, artistic excellence, and cross-cultural dialogue to every project.
